In this workshop we will create a communal subjective map of the campgrounds. The workshop is inspired by the subjective mapping exercise developed by Experimental Jetset for Le Cent Quatre in Paris, France, in 2008. Your map should reflect how you navigate the camp, including activities, experiences, feelings, values, personal preferences, and unique details. There is no right or wrong way to create this map. Feel free to explore the area and identify key elements to include on your map. Alternatively, you might prefer to create an abstract map representing the values and practices you hope to experience at the Summer Camp. You can draw a map, make a collage, or use any other medium with which you feel comfortable.

  • duration: 3 hours over 2 sessions (1,5 hrs each session)
  • number of participants: 15-20
  • materials / tools: Coloured paper, pencils, markers, 2 rolls of craft paper (2 meters long), scissors and glue
  • what do participants need to prepare: before coming to the workshop think of a song/lyrics/quote/poem/statement you associate with the Summer camp (optional)
