Using the five ‘levels of autonomy’ (SAE Automated Vehicle Classification based on six different levels) of the self driving car as a means to work towards a better understanding of the practical aspects of conceptualizing and building a self-driving vehicle. Hackers & Designers initiated a series of five hands-on workshops with Waag Society and Heerko van der Kooij.
Hackers & Designers aims to create an opportunity to collectively investigate the technologies in and around the self-driving car, discuss and investigate the ethical and philosophical questions that come with our reliance on technology in modern society all the while making our own self-driving car. On November 8 Hackers & Designers will be giving a workshop at Rijkswaterstaat which will be an interesting opportunity to talk about infrastructures with government employers.
