HDSC2026 vindt plaats van 13 tot en met 23 juli en biedt een intensief, praktijkgericht programma voor een groep van meer dan 30 deelnemers. Het publieke programma heeft tot doel het zomerkamp in een bredere context te plaatsen en de reflecties en processen van het praktijkgerichte traject open te stellen voor een breder publiek. Als je nieuwsgierig bent naar de activiteiten van H&D maar er nog nooit aan hebt deelgenomen, is dit een geweldig startpunt. Doe mee aan lezingen, optredens, een excursie, een maaltijd en nog veel meer. Laten we contact maken, gesprekken aangaan, dingen ontrafelen en opnieuw vormgeven!
HDSC2026 runs from July 13 to 23 with an intensive hands-on program together with a group of 30+ participants. The public program aims to contextualise the Summer Camp and open up the reflection and processes of its hands-on trajectory to a wider audience. If you are curious about H&D's activities but never joined any, this is a great starting point. Join us for talks, performances, a field trip, a meal, and more, let's connect, start conversations, deconstruct and re-imagine "the Cloud"!

“Cloud computing” is uitgegroeid tot een cruciaal onderdeel van het hedendaagse digitale landschap. “De cloud” roept het beeld op van iets immaterieels, luchtigs, abstracts en plaatsloos: gegevens die door de lucht zweven. Maar dit beeld overschaduwt de materiële realiteit van onze digitale gewoonten: internetkabels die de zeebodem kruisen, energieverslindende serverparken, edelmetalen die worden gewonnen om chips te produceren en nog meer ‘spullen’ die samen vormen wat we nu ‘de cloud’ noemen. De tastbare ‘spullen’ die informatica verbinden met de dagelijkse realiteit zijn grotendeels eigendom van, worden beheerd en ontworpen door grote techbedrijven die hun beslissingen baseren op winstmaximalisatie.

Monday 13 July 8—10pm Clouds to Commons: Kick-off Program

The H&D Summer Camp 2026 will kick off with a night of talks and performance to dive into the topic of Clouds to Commons. Let's get inspired, curious, critical and build a fertile grounds for the next 10 days of the Summer camp with Marloes de Valk, Sondi and Marcell Mars.

  • This event is taking place at NDSM Theater: Scheepsbouwkade 4-6, 1033 WM located on the ground floor. Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair-accessible toilet and the bar is located on the first floor.

Wednesday 15 July 5-7pm Bart's fieldtrip in NDSM

Bart is a longterm artist/ activist with a studio present at NDSM. He will take us on a tour in the local area dissecting language and strategies by real estate developers and city council. The aim is to break down the narrative in order to reclaim it on our own conditions.

Saturday 18 July 1.30—3.30pm Open lunch!!

Drop-in for a joyful lunch to get a taste of HDSC2026!

  • The lunch will take place at H&D Studio located at NDSM plein 127.

Thursday 23 July 6—11pm Clouds to Commons: Closing Program

This evening is the final public event of the H&D Summer Camp, so we've put together a full program. Starting at 18.00, visitors can already join a printing performance and exhibition where the Summer Camp participants will be sharing their processes and outcomes of the last two weeks. This sharing moment will continue after the Hmm event. H&D and The Hmm put together the evening talk program, where we will expore hands-on-hacking, collective learning, speculative fabulation, and big tech resistance with six artists, designers, researchers, and makers: Kexin Hong, Amy Gowen, Martha Dimitratou, Livio Liechti, Hicham El Kaddioui, and Martyna Pekala.

Please reach out to us via info@thehmm.nl, at least 3 days before the event if possible, if you are joining on-site and have this access need, so that we can reserve a seat for you within view of the screen with captions. If you are joining online via our livestream, live captioning will be available as one of the streaming modes.
