===What exactly is a "webserver" or a "database" or a "cloud"?===

Perhaps you've been Cyberducking Wordpress files into some mysterious domain name setup by a hosting provider, but you're not entirely sure what it means? What exactly is a "webserver" or a "database" or a "cloud"?
[[Hackers & Designers]] has teamed up with [[Greenhost]] to provide you with all the answers in a 3 part, pay what you want, Saturday workshop series. Greenhost is providing free hosting in the form of Virtual Private Servers (VPS) for the duration of workshops.
Part 1 focuses on on VPS concepts and creation, connecting to your own VPS, installing dependencies, starting a webserver, and hosting a simple HTML page.
