Solarpunk Kids (Bring Your Own Grown-up) - Scavenger hunt with Hackers & Designers

Is all of the Internet worldwide? Can I make my own internet? How much power does it consume? Is it bad for the environment? At Hackers & Designers we are doing experiments to find out what a sustainable Internet of the future might look like. Want to join us?

On Sunday 5 June we will do a 2nd trial of a new workshop with a small group of people. Are you between 7-12 years old* and would you like to make a scavenger hunt in and around Page Not Found (The Hague)? Find your favourite grown up and ask them to apply! We will make wearable wifi networks to hide digital clues. After making the scavenger hunt of course we will do the hunt and try to find the clues using our mobile phones!

What can you expect? Young participants will learn to design a scavenger hunt. The grown-up participants will learn how to make a mini websites using HTML and put them on mobile wifi modules we will use to create the digital scavenger hunt.

Date: Sunday 5 June

Time: 13.00-16.00h

Language: Dutch/English

Costs: If you want to keep the Wifi Modules you can buy them from us for their cost price (17,00)

What to bring: a laptop computer (usb adaptor if your computer requires) and a smartphone. Bring a partner! The workshop is really set up to participate as a pair (one adult and one young person), and we will need both of your skills and imagination throughout the entire workshop :)

Location: Page Not Found, Boekhorststraat 126-128, 2512 CT Den Haag

Sign up (before 1 June) via: anja@hackersanddesigners.nl -- upon sign-up we will send you a more detailed set-up of the program
