Protocols are the infrastructure of the internet, any data that moves in an open manner needs a protocol. Joel made a quick overview and talked about the current state of alternative social media protocols. Protocole are usually made by developers for developers, but together we came up with alternative ways to design and think about protocols.

What to bring? Nothing really. You could think of a problem, a rule, a convention, a social/pressing/funny situation: Something non-digital that involves more than one person. Big or small, (although small and specific is easier and more fun). Then we try and make protocol out of that.
