πŸ‘€ Tasks

We are looking for someone who is interested in supporting H&D by:

  • Developing administrative and financial workflow that aligns with and supports H&D's flattened organizational structure. We are currently working with an administrative software called 'Exact Online,' which we are open to revisit if the person prefers other software or workflows.
  • Receiving, paying, making, sending, and keeping account of invoices
  • Running our quarterly VAT declarations
  • Generating our annual accounts and statements
  • Keeping an overview of our books
  • Supporting us in making, maintaining and updating our budgets
  • Sharing their knowledge regarding the current state of Dutch cultural funding systems
  • Occasionally joining monthly meetings with the collective

πŸ‘€ Who is H&D

Hackers & Designers is a non-profit workshop initiative organizing activities at the intersection of technology, design and art. By creating shared moments of hands-on learning H&D stimulates collaboration across disciplines, technological literacy, and different levels of expertise. H&D currently consists of nine people forming a decentralized organization that distributes power over finances and decision making. H&D is funded by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie since 2015 and works with several other intersecting sources of public funding.

The nature of our organization is most of the time unruly, changing and chaotic and our "decentralized" approach to administrative and financial tasks is best described as awkward; but:

  • We make our own budgets and spreadsheets
  • We try to stick to them, but attune to changes and account for them as best as we can
  • We write our own reports and reflections on our budgets to our funders
  • We are doing our best

πŸ‘€ The pay

110 hours a year (around 2 hours/week) 50,- per hour, 5500,- invoiced.
