In this workshop we'll explore VPNs and use them to “evaporate” from Silicon Valley's watchful eyes. As a follow-up to the Linux workshop, we'll network our servers together into our own VPN. WireGuard is a modern, lightweight VPN protocol. Open source, fast, and simple enough to read and understand line by line. We'll set up a private network connecting our laptops and servers directly to each other, no company or dashboard in between. Along the way we'll get hands-on with IP addresses, encryption, and how routing actually works. No coding or networking background required, we will troubleshoot together as we go.
