H&D와 SALT는 김성은 감독의 2017년작 영화 <스물다섯번째 시간> 상영에 초대합니다. 제주 견학 중 H&D는 생명평화강정마을의 기후와 사회운동의 역사에 대해 공유해 준 영화 제작자를 만났습니다. H&D는 이를 알리기 위해 예술가, 디자이너, 해커, 활동가 커뮤니티를 SALT의 아늑한 거실에 초대합니다. 기부는 매우 환영하며, 강정 주민인 김종환님이 16년 동안 활동가와 방문객을 위해 요리해 온 할망물 공동체 주방(삼거리 식당)의 기부 계좌로 전달됩니다.

2015년 1월 31일. 제주도 강정마을 해군관사 공사장 앞의 농성천막과 망루가 17시간의 저항 끝에 철거되었다. 주민과 연대자들이 함께 지켰던 이 공간은 투쟁의 거점일 뿐만아니라 그들을 심적으로 연결시켰던 연대의 장이었다. 이제 마지막 남은 미사천막과 삼거리 공동식당도 기지확장과 우회도로 건설로 인해 언제 철거될지 모른다. 2012년 구럼비 발파를 시작으로 강정마을 사람들은 공권력에 의해 그들의 공간에서 끊임없이 추방되어왔지만, 아침이 되면 어제와 다름없는 저항의 일상은 계속된다. 이 영화는 그 반복 안에서 서로를 비추는 시간에 주목한다. 그 시간은 강정 주민들의 지난 9년을 향한 기억의 투쟁인 동시에 그 일상 속 개개인에게는 모호한 미래에 대한 불복종 그 자체로서 의미를 가진다.
Synopsis
The film traces the memories of the villagers’ 10 year-long resistance against the naval base construction in Gangjeong village in Jeju Island, South Korea. Facing yet another police crackdown on the protestors’ encampment at the new military housing complex construction site on January 31, 2015, one of the activists said: “We’re living the 25th hour.” The sustainability of the hour becomes questioned throughout the film, as the day unfolds evoking different moments in the history of the struggle. Exploring the possibility of filmmaking as a means of active memory, this film follows the life of activism after its visible phase.
