The jacquard loom has been one of the inspiration sources of creating operating systems. This is a fascinating example of how technology and manual labour can collaborate.
In this workshop we learned about reading weaving patterns, hand-weaving and translating patterns into an algorithm.
We discovered the basis of creating a system which is inevitable in weaving. That gave the participants an understanding of how a simple algorithm works.
